Dear Black Hair Community,
This letter comes with gratitude, apologies, and hope for the future. I started Black Hair Media over 20 years ago, out of a desire for a community for black women. As I was going through my own hair journey, I found it hard to find a community of support and information for black women regarding hair and beauty at that time. It was out of that need that BlackHairMedia.com was born. With the creation of Black Hair Media came a host of challenges. For a small operation to grow as large as it did, it was a blessing that I will forever be grateful for. As a black woman wearing many hats, (as we so often do), as a mother, daughter, sister, wife, career woman, etc., life got in the way. Additionally, 20 years ago, technology wasn’t where it is today. I truly apologize for my absence for the last few years. Although, life typically doesn’t come with a lot of do overs, however, I have and have always had, a passion for all things black hair care and beauty and the sisterhood and camaraderie that it generates. I want to do a re-launch of BlackHairMedia.com, but here’s the truth: I still wear many hats, I still have a full-time job, but I truly feel with your support, well wishes, and prayers, I can rebuild BHM to be a contributor to the Black Hair Community. I want all of you to know, I do not take a single view, like, click, thumbs up, or email for granted. Moving forward with your support and your prayers, I will do my best to lead BHM to being a viable contributor to the dynamic Black Hair Community.
With love and best regards,
Nikki
