Fried, Dyed, and None on the Side
My poor hair has been through! It has been fried, dyed, twisted, braided, weaved, cut…. You name it. A few years ago, I was going to a salon. I was wearing a wrap. I knew nothing about hair, and I trusted the stylist. He would put the perm on my hair and sit me under the dryer. He said that it would help my hair to break-down faster. Then he would wash it,
condition it and put me back under the dryer. Take me out, wash it, wrap it and put me back under the dryer. My hair usually took about 2 ½ hours to dry. This went on for some months, every 2 weeks.
The end result…temples that were completely bald on both sides. I had to wear a bob, during the hottest part of the summer. I stopped perming my hair and starting experimenting again with braids and twists. I fell in love with Kinky Twists and wore them for about 2 to 3 years. I decided to dread my hair in April ’06 and I have not looked back! I love my hair.
