Tell us about yourself: I’m a wife, mother,  full-time employee and  the owner/blogger for  Frugal Flirty n Fab. My blog consist of celebrity style, personal style, fashion trends, fashion practices and being all out Fab on a frugal budget. My goal is to become a household brand and make a name for myself starting with the Miami fashion scene. I not only want to rock fashion, I want to be the one who forever changes the way we view fashion as a whole. Thanks to my blog, I truly  know what it feels like to love what you do.

How long have you been natural? On the 17th of November, it will be an amazing 7 months that I have been natural.

Why did you go natural? I decided to take the plunge and go natural because my hair was severely damaged, limp, and straight up used and abused! I enjoy getting a good morning run in and doing so while trying to not only maintain, but work with my relaxed, damaged hair was downright horrible and inappropriate for my lifestyle.  I started out wearing a sew in but, between the itching and tightness I just wanted to be free. I was looking for not just a temporary hairstyle, but something that I could work with on my terms. I big chopped on April 17th and I have not looked back. Best decision I’ve made in a really long time.[pullquote_right]Find strength in your hair and never look back![/pullquote_right]

What is your hair type and texture? I have yet to find someone with the same hair texture as mine so when it comes to defining my particular type or texture I’d rather not even try.

What products and techniques work best for your hair type/texture? This may be a little strange but true story. I was blogging at the South Florida Jazz in the Gardens Festival and as I was walking around taking pictures for my blog. A male handed me a bag full of natural hair producst and asked that I try them out. I looked at the products and they were all from the Taliah Wajiid line and I was just dying to see how they worked on my hair. I big chopped a few weeks after receiving the free samples and currently I live by the Taliah Waajid products. My favorites are the Curly Curl Cream and Detangler. I also use Cantu Shea Butter Leave in Conditioning repair cream. Never one to be a product junkie, I find those products are perfect for my hair.

What is your hair regimen and how does it fit into your busy schedule? My regimen has to be my favorite part of being natural. You see… I am a jack of all trades and being natural allows me to adjust to my roles. In the morning, I’m an athlete. My health is important and I try to take care of myself now, in hopes of being healthy and not dealing with any unnecessary health issues. So I need hair that can not only handle my workouts but see me through. From 9-5, I work in a corporate office where I am only 1 of 3 African American Women so it’s important that I pretty much maintain a professional and positive appearance. From sun up to sun down, I’m a  mother of 2 which means my hair needs to be ready to go and on the scene at soccer meets, basketball games, birthday parties at a moments notice. Last but not least, I’m a fashion blogger and I love that I can go from “big hair” to  “trendy hair” to “structured hair” depending on my style event I’m attending and feel of the day. As a blogger, I also find that my hair is a great conversation starter and I’ve gained many readers and additional fans because of it.

Any additional advice? The best advice I can give about my natural hair is to just own it. Short, tall, big or small. Find strength in your hair and never look back!
