Tell us about yourself:  I am a Research Specialist for a company based in Charlotte, NC by day and I am a natural hair and fashion blogger by day and night.  I enjoy hanging out with friends, traveling, and eating. (I mean who doesn’t like to eat… LOL!)
How long have you been natural? Why did you go natural? I‘ve been natural for 4 years. I decided to go natural after always getting breakage and scalp burns from relaxers. It was my junior year in college and a recently found a hair stylist told me I did not need relaxers. I’ve been without one ever since.

What is your hair type and texture? I don’t really believe in the hair typing system…  I have loose curls in the front and tight curls in the middle. It’s just a lot going on … LOL!

What products and techniques work best for your hair type/texture? I love twist outs on dry or wet hair and Jane Carter’s line works best for me. I can’t do my hair without it.

What is your hair regimen and how does it fit into your busy schedule? I usually make Sunday my  “Wash Day”.  Make sure to set time aside on that day to wash, condition, and twist. That’s pretty much my regimen. I also deep condition twice a month. I just like to keep it simple.
Any additional advice? I’m pretty much simple when it comes to my hair. If not, I will over think the whole process. I love being natural and how much healthier my hair is now without all those unnecessary chemicals!!!! Make sure you check out my fashion and natural hair blog www.melissachanel.com.
