How long have you been natural? My last perm was November of 2009… almost 3 years.

Why did you go natural? It intrigued me.  I was ready for a change of self.  Wanted to have a deeper, greater understanding of who I was authentically.

What is your hair type and texture? 3b/3c hair type, fine texture, normal density, high porosity, normal elasticity.

What products and techniques work best for your hair type/texture? Lots and lots and lots of all-natural, nutrient enriched protein conditioners; water-based moisturizes; Bentonite Clay Treatments and Henna treatments; Leave-In Conditioners and Oils as opposed to butters.

What is your hair regimen and how does it fit into your busy schedule? I never use shampoo or heat except quarterly when I go to the salon to get it straightened and occasionally colored. I tend to co-wash my hair every other day, especially during the summer and wet my hair in the shower in-between co-washing unless I’m wearing a certain dry style like a flat-twist & curl out or bantu-knots out for multiple days. I then spray a moisturizer on and then seal with carrier oil.  I only detangle on extremely wet hair and mostly while in the shower with my fingers (occasionally a wide-tooth comb.) I’m somewhere between a curly girl or no-poo girl.  I love using homemade products, especially for conditioners, moisturizers and protein treatments.
