BHM's Textured Beauty NickyName:  Nicky a.k.a. NaturallyNicky

Hair’s Name:  I don’t have one. But if I did, it would be Crown Of Glory!

Tell us about yourself:  I am a housewife by day and blogger by night. I love to write, do photography, and spend time with my family.

How long have you been natural? Why did you go natural?  I have been natural for three years now. I just recently celebrated my natural hair anniversary on November 7th. Going natural was a spur of the moment decision for me. I had a horrible experience with a beautician when I had relaxed hair and she left me with a huge bald spot. After that experience I needed a change.

What is your hair type and texture? Well according to the charts, I am a 4b in the front, 4c in the middle, and 4a in the back. Yes, I have three textures in my head!

I wear twists during the week and twist outs on the weekend.

What products and techniques work best for your hair type/texture?  I use the entire line of SheaMoisture. The best thing I can do for my hair is low manipulation.

What is your hair regimen and how does it fit into your busy schedule?  I wash and deep condition my hair twice a month. Sometimes I might pre-poo if my hair needs it.  I wear twists during the week and twist outs on the weekend.

Any additional advice? You will need lots of patience when it comes to natural hair. The longer it grows ,the longer you will spend time maintaining your hair. Every wash day, I spend three hours or more on my hair. Also, please don’t compare your hair to others because you will become frustrated. Embrace your own hair journey… the good and bad!
