Name: Taira

Tell us about yourself: I’m an Administrative Supervisor for a Healthcare company and I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, fam and friends doing just about anything fun.

How long have you been natural? Why did you go natural? I have been natural for 1yr and 6months.  I went natural because I was looking for a healthy change. Something different.

What is your hair type and texture? I actually don’t know my hair type and texture, but it is very kinky.

What products and techniques work best for your hair type/texture? I am actually still in the process of finding the best products, because what worked a month or two ago no longer works for my hair.  Two strand twist and bantu knots look best on my hair!

What is your hair regimen and how does it fit into your busy schedule? I am just now exploring different regimens.  I wash my hair once a week (works best for styling my hair), I try to twist or knot my hair every other night and it sometimes does not fit into my schedule. Time is what keeps me from experimenting and finding the best regimen for my hair type.

Any additional advice? I would definitely go to a hair consultant first to become more educated on your hair type and allowing someone to assist you with basic styles and product knowledge.
